Had a similar problem in my first 'S'. It had a locking gas cap but you had to push the key in and turn or turn and push in. Took some time to work out. Rather awkward as I left the dealer with not much more than fumes in the tank ;-)

That night I parked outside a friend's place and left the parking lights on... back when you did that sort of thing :-) Came out to drive home, flat battery. My friend had to push start my brand new car which fortunately wasn't too hard as it rolled easily.

For me it happened when I was exiting a shopping center that had a steeper ramp so I took it really slow and angled (which I don't like to do if I don't have to). I was already embarassed because I was blocking people behind me and the cars sitting at the cross street lights were staring. So I tried to take off a little fast to make up for my slow exit and my heel got stuck in my carpet and I totally messed up my shift and my car jolted hard and peeled out right in the middle of the intersection. Oye that made my face turn red...

About a year ago, I was stuck in traffic, but it was still moving intermittently and I tried to put my top down. Half way down, the traffic started to move, I sort off panic because the car behind me started honking. I pulled down the E brake then moved forward while the top was half way down for about 30 feet until the traffic went to a hault again . I then immediately pulled the e brake up again to fully put the top down. To me it was rather embarrassing

I've tried putting the top down w/o unlocking the latches first. First time w/ a convertible... Luckily you can play it off if you're slick enough.

I guess this isn't really an S2K embarrassment, but since a lot of you were going on about stalling.... I stalled when I picked up my Porsche, in front of my girlfriend and the sales staff. It was great. I felt like a real idiot.

i think in general nothing is more embarassing than stalling under pressure.

when there are cars behind you honking and most of the eople don't know it's because you are stalling they just think you keep turning your car on and off for fun.

i learned stick years ago on my uncles acura tl and like a moron i decided to just swap cars as i kind of knew the theory behind it and had driven a few bullshit times before but nothing for real. so we swapped for the weekend and im like ill just drive around the neighborhood and learn. first day i went to the supermarket and coming out of the parking lot with like 10 cars behind me i had to like creep up to see oncoming traffic on main road and i kept stalling it was embarrassing and it doesn't help that like 20 people are honking at you. i just did a hard launch after like 3 stalls and basically made the next turn onto a small street and regained composure to avoid further embarrassment as the whole lane was looking at me. everyone goes through embarrassing stalls at first so its natural.
