Engine blown

^ I do see what you are saying and I am doing my best not to just jump on the bandwagon and accuse him of anything like that. However it seems likely it just wasnt taken care of to well. But for all I know that could have been done before he bought the freakin' car. I suppose only he knows however you would think he would have at least thought about defending it instead of editing every post including this one. :shrugs: Oh well I just wanted to put my .02 in.

Like you, I suspect this is the result of poor maintainence, either by the current or previous owner, but even that's just a guess. If the assertion had been that the OP never checked his oil level and there were posts to back that up, I'd feel quite differently, but I can't see any connection between the driving described (as bad as it is) and a turned bearing. I'm not saying it's not possible either, but I can't see any connection and tend to believe that it was more likely the result of neglect (somewhere along the way).

Ahh, so *this* is what happens when you constantly beat on your car. Thanks for clearing that up.

Are you saying I don't know what the car was designed for?
You threatened him for no reason. He bought the car with 27k, which might have had cracked retainers, etc etc. YOU DONT KNOW. Who the hell are you to judge what is wrong with the car?
For someone who has been here for 5+ years, you obviously are a troll, since you didnt learn a thing.
Too bad the OP isnt in this thread anymore. It's easy to jump to conclusions on the internet. There was absolutely no reason for you to bash him. He came here asking for help, if you didnt have an answer, just go on to the next thread and tell your friends how "this one kid on the forum...."
P.S. Driving hard on cold oil does not harm the engine in any way. Considering the fact that that car WILL NOT allow you to hit VTEC when it's cold, you cannot actually cause any damage. You can bounce of the cold rev limited all day long, and not do a thing.
In the summer of 2003 my 01 blew up with 19k miles on her. Hydrolock due to an AEM intake. Honda stood behind it and I had a new engine in 4 days over 4th of July weekend.
Sounds like Honda should back you on this one. Good Luck.

Ahh. Well, anything to alleviate what I'm sure is a constant barrage of questions regarding what brand of radar detector you own.
Be nice for once... damn man.

There IS a telling of how much abuse the car took between 27k and the present, and it appears to be a lot. I am sure this played no small part in the current state of the engine.
I'm sure what has been posted on the internet is just a small fraction of the probable daily hell this poor car was subjected to. If anyone needs evidence of "abuse", here it is:
Are you really surprised your engine blew up? What do you expect to happen when you beat the crap out of your car 100% of the time?

Why do some people just want to kick some while they are down to just make themselve feel better about themselves? GTI, are you really this pathetic? Get a life instead of spending your time in digging these post. For what purpouse? You probably spent a good 15 minutes or more searching for all these posts. What did you gain out of this? This is just sad.
Furthermore, I looked at all the post that GTI quoted and didn't see one thing the guy did that could have contributed in blowing up his motor. All those things falls within the spec of what the s2000 was designed to do.
To the OP. I hope Honda fixes up the car for you. Hopefully you also learn something in this. Posting abiut doing irresponsible act in a public road will not get you too much sympathy. Peace.

Second, the OP has gone back and edited most of his original posts that I quoted snippets from, which is why the probably don't seem so bad to you when you go back to read them.
Ice cold oil I just want to reiterate must be 32 degrees F to be considered ice cold.
It always bugs me when people try to sell water or beer or coke or whatever and say it's "ice cold" because obviously it is not or it would be ice (well beer could be due to alcohol lowering the freezing point).
