when i rev to 3k and drop the clutch, the engine bogs down to below 2k rpm! what am i doing wrong?

The S2000 has shit for torque, thats why it bogs. IF you don't launch 6-6.5K rpm you will bog.

all you are proving by dropping the clutch at 3k is that the clutch does what it's supposed to do... It grabs. This forces the engine to slow down to the "correct" speed for the speed your tires are moving. The only way around this is to produce wheelspin so your engine can go faster upon clutch fully grabbing since the wheels would then be going faster. Make sense?

do a 5700 to 6000 rpm drop on the street..... at the drag strip you can go a little higher to around 6500 to 7000... do not drop the clutch tho... this could blow the diff.. you need to feather it out a little.. but quickly....

Put a little more air in the tires than you would typically run if you are just screwing around... make sure to drop the pressure back to 32psi before driving again.

wow i'm to scared to do anything above 5k after hearing those stories of diff's breaking. Well anyway i launch at around 4.5k and it's fine. Spins alittle but takes off quick.

There's only so much you can do with the stock gears. Rev a little too high and you burn the clutch, drop it too hard and you break the diff, rev too low and it bogs.

I went to 4.44 rear end gears to get more punch off the line and keep the car constantly in VTEC on the racetrack, they eliminated the bog for me. You could also swap to an '04+ transmission, the first few gears have a shorter ratio for better punch off the line.

The S2000 wasnt designed to be a drag car. So thats your problem. If you want to drag race go buy a camaro or a mustang.
