I'm saddened to see your problems. That's the catastrophic results when a retainer fails. I recommend the titanium retainers for this reason. The factory retainers tend to give out. I've seen it several times. Good luck, the new engine should be a horsepower monster.

Man ... sorry to see your engine going away. It doesn't really sound like the engine gave up due to excessive abuse or modifications. It seems to just point out that the retainers/valve springs are a little weak for prolonged high-revs.
Anyway, best of luck to you. Keep us posted about your J's engine! If I were you, I would be too excited and can't fall asleep. That's one monster NA engine!
