Aaaaahhh.... ur in europe, that would be a good reason you have that and I don't...

You can see in his picture that he posted that the label he's pointing to is identical to the sticker i have on my car... That VIN plate isn't on our cars over here.

I see now on your picture that they aren't placed at the exact same spot
oh boy, they sure make this confusing.

I think I got it now, but i'm still not 100% sure. I mean, if I had a s2000 sitting in front of me, no problem, but i'm trying to explain to a guy over the phone where it should be. I just want to send him a picture via email and say "bam, this is where you find the numbers"

If anyone ever wants to take any close ups of where the engine serial (NOT THE VIN) is stamped (in both spots) that would be great as well!
Thanks all,

The numbers on my engine and vin don't match and i've heard a lot other owners have unmatching numbers as well. I was told that engines and the vehicle were assembled on separate production lines and the car received whichever engine was completed first.

Yes, this is true. I think they are usually off by 5 of so.
This is why I need to know where ONLY the engine serial numbers are located...NOT the Vin.

Both my head and the block numbers match my VIN... dunno why it wouldn't... the VIN plates on the head are purposefully supposed to match the car for obvious reasons, and ther numbers on the block are supposed to match the VIN... <shrug>
