after a car spins and ends up rolling/sliding in reverse with the clutch engaged in a forward gear, the engine stalls with the engine-check light on. is there any harm to this? i spun out today and didn't push the clutch back in and ended up in that situation, it took me 4 tries to start the car back up. does anybody know if there is any harm to the engine/tranny when this happens?

 

Naw no harm done..do a search for this topic, and you will find a few threads covering the phenomena

yeup. it does happen. remove the key, wait two seconds, put the key back in, start it up - its fine. any other issues - pull the ECU fuse and reset it and restart the car. no biggie.

 

Hmmm, sounds familiar... No harm, but next time I'll try to get that clutch in once I know the spin is unrecoverable.
