Epic tale of death and destruction
Jeez, I'm glad you two are ok.
We have developed a plan to avoid deer damage to the side of our STL S2Ks. We drive very fast around here, that limits the damage to just the front
Remember there are a few S2k members in the St Louis area if you ever need assistance (breaking your car
)

Sondra,
On the trip up to Indy we ran through a large herd of deer just after we entered Missouri from Oklahoma. I had no trouble staying alert at 2 AM after that. I'm convinced the HID's + deer can equal disaster. Of course you don't have to venture far from home to risk deer strikes. I nearly hit a deer on the last run to Spicewood.
Glad you guys are unhurt. I watched a small pickup flip after striking a small deer on I-35. We were inside the city limits near the Brazos bridge.

As long as we're on wildlife stories, I thought I mention my two school-teacher maiden aunts' encounter with a bobcat one night on the Natchez Trace in Mississippi. The bobcat leaped up into the air upon seeing the car approaching and for a second or so was plastered onto the windshield right in my aunts' faces. He then flipped over the back of the car and landed (I think) on his feet in the road. My aunts backed up to see what had happened to him and saw him walking off into the woods, apparently none the worse for wear!
Sondra,
I didn't read all of the posts (short attention span)... but... YOU LET GREG STEVENS DRIVE YOUR CAR??? Have you not seen his driving????? Well...next time drive the car back by yourself!
Scot
O ya... how the hell do you guys get so much free time to travel all over the place like this? I am unemployed and I never have a free moment!

Scot, of course you have no free time: you have kids! Greg took a day off to help me drive my car back home, and I am as yet unemployed as well.
Yep, I let Greg drive it... man, that poor guy never gets a break! Heh heh, and yeah, I've seen his driving, but we were on the interstate with no twisties to spin out on, no side strakes to lose!

BTW, what I meant on the last post is that Greg takes more chances than I do, but also with the benefit of more skill, on twisties and such; I wasn't implying that he's a bad driver by any means. I think I already said once that the outcome of this event would likely have been very different had I been driving...
