i personally am a honda technician. we are required to road test every vehicle that we perform an alignment on. this is standard procedure. why would we waste our time aligning your vehicle and not road test it. only to have you take the vehicle, just to bring it back and complain about something like the steering wheel off centered or it still pulls. not every person is shady. there are a lot of techs that would treat your vehicle like their own. you just have to be lucky and not get for example a "young tech street racer with a lead foot" to not work on your vehicle. you can always request to have a certain tech work on your vehicle. an older tech would probably treat your vehicle better.
you could request them to perform the alignment only and do not road test the vehicle, but they will probably tell you that you cannot bring it back to complain if it has a crooked steering wheel or still pulls if you don't let them confirm the job was done correctly.
sometimes. if your don't want anyone working on your car or touching it. just learn how to fix everything yourself. but easier said than done. just my .02c
Technicians & repair shops needs to test drive the car to verify the repair. the technician did what he's supposed to do. what he did wrong is that he did a spirited test drive.

I hope that you have moved forward toward an equitable resolution with the car dealer. I think this would be a reasonable time to ask a lawyer for some help. You would easily recoup his fee on this.

rossco, your post is so full of fail it's ridiculous. I'll reply later since I don't have to give you a full reply now.
But I seriously question whether some tech can consistently do an alignment correct if the same tech goes out and wrecks the car due to carelessness. What does that say about his work?
As I mentioned, I rather pay a professional independent shop where I know the owner and his few employees will respect my property than take a chance on a dealer who charges a lot for supposed professional service. Not wrecking someone's property IS part of the definition of "professional." According to your comments you can't always expect that, but still should pay them professional rate. So Yes, F@@@ the dealer service departments.
And watch it with the name calling. Your attitude alone is a red flag for me NOT taking my car to a (your) dealer's service department. The problem is obviously with whoever is doing the hiring at dealerships like the one where you work. People like you and your attitude shouldn't last in a professional work environment.

you don't make any sense. so what are you saying? it's like you saying that all dealers that charge a lot will joy ride in your car and wreck it.
