My little brother picked me up from the garage in a Fiesta 1.2. - he's put some awful induction kit on it to make it sound brilliant.

Sounds like a feminist farting.

^^^ haha, nice description!

Sucks to hear...I don't understand why they had to drive the car after the alignment though?!?! Just keep tabs on what they "say" - if anything, I would get your insurance company to jump in and possibly play middle man so that you don't get screwed over. They can make an independant assessment and then work out the deal with the shops insurance company.

Sucks...hope you can find another one!!!

I'm sorry that you had to experience this. I don't trust anyone with my car, and I'm sure you feel the same way.
My approach might seem time consuming, but I sleep easier knowing that I missed maybe a few hours of relaxation just to ensure my vehicle is not damaged.

I make an appointment. They may get my car, but they get me along with it. And I always have my phone so I have a camera just in case.

Sue them! I would report them to the BBB and the news if they don't repair / replace everything.

Sorry for your loss. When I got the alignment done on my car I asked to drive the car up onto the lift and off of the lift so if something happened while it was going up and down it would be my fault. Then I stayed in the garage with the technician while he did the work. They had no problem with any of that.

I would suggest for anybody to ask to be in the garage while work is being done on their car. Just so you can see what is happening. I have done that since day one with any of my cars. The worst they could do is say no, then ask to have the car in viewing distance so you can see it from the waiting room. You could alwayz stand outside of the garage also as long as they have the door open.

'Sorry to hear of your loss.

You may want to ask whether the technician still works there. If they fired him, they are obviously taking this seriously. If he's still working there, you may want to ask why.

Being irrationally angry with the management won't get them to want to take care of your situation. Being angry and frustrated is natural, but I suggest that you communicate with them. If you can't reach an agreement, then it may be time to call in an attorney.

On this side of the pond, these shops are required to have insurance for situations like this. The solution is pretty straightforward - they hand it over to their insurance company and the insurance company handles it like any other accident.

Except in the case where they'd rather prevent their premiums from going up and pay out of pocket. It happens.
