Going on 9 months and this is still unresolved! Nibble's car sat outside in what was a very tough winter for the first time in its life. Esurance has deposed him (he now has a lawyer) and he has submitted everything they've asked for, all of which supports his claim. All these months and esurance has yet to call any of us who were there with him the morning of the accident.
We've now taken to social media to try and affect some progress that way (keeping it respectful and to the facts, of course).

Holy crap...I've never heard this form an insurance company...craziness! I hope you've got a good lawyer and you can sue the shit out of them once this is all over.

9 months is ridiculous. Your friend must be very patient. I second the recommendation to get the state insurance commissioner's office involved. This is the sort of consumer protection that office is designed to offer.

FWIW, I also occasionally track my cars. My regular insurance excludes track events, so I buy track day insurance. If I'm on the track, I'm covered by the HPDE policy. If I'm not on the track, my regular insurance has me covered. I can't imagine why esurance is being so difficult about this. They must be doing a fraud investigation - trying to make sure the car wasn't crashed during the HPDE, then towed to another location to file a claim.

He has a letter from the event organizers stating nothing happened during the event. Also all of us who were at the event with him offered to do the same or be deposed. There's also the account from the tow truck driver. a police report, and photos of the scene on I-80 with his skid marks.

Insurance companies do everything they possibly can to get an individual to give up. 1st offer is -they deny, second offer -they lowball, 3rd offer they again lowball. I hate dealing with insurance. As mentioned, it is a scam allowed and required by the government. It is like the mafia, only this mafia is Government Approved.

I am an insurance broker in Calif. None of this makes any sense. Call your state insurance commisioner at once and put in a complaint. There are laws regarding unfair claims activity, in Calif it is the unfair claims act. Get your car if you can, have it towed someplace to evaluate it, take them to court for the repair. They have no case unless you are witholding some facts. Good luck.

No facts withheld. Some argue he gave too many facts by being up front about the fact he was at a track day the day before. But with that out there from day 1 everything has been on the table.

spread the word.... regardless of who is in the right it's bad business to take the car and then drop all communication ask for people's contact info but never call... This is a garage kept S2000 that sees maybe 3000 miles per year outside who knows where unprotected.

After several days of posting to their FB page esurance has now deleted/hidden/blocked my comments. They are not visible anymore.

In these posts Esurance responded encouraging Paul to contact them with his claim number and someone would help him. He did. No one did. Further proof of what a shitty outfit this is.
