Default Ever Notice....

that whenever the sun hits your windshield, you see all that dirt and grime and rock chips on your windshield. sometimes it makes it hard to see and such. i was wondering what have you guys done about it? is there some kind of special cleaner or something that could clean that off? I have tried countless of glass cleaners and non of them do a great job. can it be buffed out?

I think there was another thread about this recently. I have the same problem. It's just a bunch of little rock chips...and the consensus was; you have to replace the windshield.

I'll let mine get abused a little more before I do methinks.

Yeah is it a Honda thing? my prelude had the same issues, it looked all chipped and such but I have never really seen other people's windshields like that. haha

The windshield chips faster because it is more upright than others. I've heard that pledge is good for filling in those little pics and dealing with sun glare, short term.

i noticed hondas tend to get windshield chips/cracks more than any car ever, going back to the old days my friends integra/prelude/civic all got cracks and my s2k has a little rock chip. very rarely have i seen anybody else with different models/brands get cracked windshields. i've owned ford/chevrolet/dodge/hondas2k/toyota and i've never had cracks. we'll see if my 2010 civic gets chips/cracks in the next year.

Chances are you are going to need to replace the windshield anyway at some point (rocks happen!) so when it does use it as an excuse for a clear windshield.

you think my insurance would replace it? if I dont told them that I have cracks and grime on my windshield which makes it very hard to see. Fearing that I might get into an accident, they might just replace it or NOT!

First, make sure your insurance covers windshield damage without making you pay your deductible (many will) and then just pay some kid to hit your windshield with a sling shot.
