Ever Notice....
if you don't want to replace your windshield, but still want to eliminate some sun glare, try wearing Polarized glasses. It may or may not help your situation, depending on how bad your windshield is. I had this issue with my 97 Jetta, I started wearing polarized sunglasses and the glare was greatly reduced. Just another alternative if you don't want to replace your windshield yet.
I just replaced my windshield, and insurance covered the cost. Before I went that route though, I asked how much it would be - they said $210. I think that would have been higher though; turned out to be a little more work to get the gasket.
The previous windshield had 2 small dings when I bought the car. One I used windshield repair stuff on, and it cleaned up the crack but not completely. The car recently picked up two more small cracks, so I figured it was time to replace. Between those cracks and the normal pits and small scratches, the new glass makes a huuuuuuuge difference.

Three little words........"Discount for Cash?" I replaced windshields in the wife's truck and Grand Marquis last summer. Price quoted was $240 each. I asked, "Discount for cash?" Paid $200 each. Try it.
