Ever run out of gas in your S2k?
Mr Sugar Balls! Nice to see you, my man!
Yea, I ran outta gas once in the S2000. I was leaving Gingerman, actually, on a country road and I started to sputter. I had just finished the last session and had to get back to Chicago for a date. The gauge never gets an accurate read on the course, duh, and I actually sputtered on the last lap. So I pulled off. Got my gear together and got on the road. The car jostles and coughs to a stop about 2 miles down this country road.

Hot as hell out (for Michigan) and not a soul on the road. I walked/ran all the way back to Gingerman. Got some 5 dollar a gallon gas and a guy drove me back in his C320 conververtible...cool ride.
Put the gas in and she started right up. We ended up postponing the date. She turned out to be stupid anyway...
When I lose the last bar, I reliably have almost exactly 3 gallons. But other than that I haven't run out...not fun!

Maybe I'm a freak, but I've never run out of gas in any vehicle I've owned, including a Yamaha Seca 400 motorcycle without gas gauge.
Or maybe it's because I'm from NJ, where there's a gas station every couple of miles or so.
No, it's because I don't tempt fate, and I fill up BEFORE my gas gauge is on empty, call me anal but I don't like to use my auto club membership unless I really need to!

I had the gas light come on while lapping at TWS. I kept going through the cool down but it looked pretty low. The gas at the track is a bit high but I was afraid to drive into town so I bought $2 at the track which was 8/10 of a gallon. Drove 5 miles to the station in town and filled it with 12.8 (not topping off). One more lap and I would have run out on the track!
I was at the track (Willow Springs) running my last lap as well, before the time trials started, when the car started to sputter right before pit lane. So I pitted and our group went to get race gas. When we got there, the 5 bucks per gallon quickly changed our minds and we decided to go out about 4-5 miles down the road to the gas station. A few hundred yards out of Willow Springs, it died!
The rest of the group went to get me gas, while I waited. Long wait with lots of stares from trailers towing race cars
Took about 2 gallons to start the car, the first wouldn't do it, the second gallon did the trick, started right up.
We made it back in time for the timed runs
