Default Everyone keeps trying to race me

I don't get it. Every damn car that is somewhat sporty keeps trying to race me. I had some RX-8 try and race me when I was out driving to the store the other day. The S2K isn't even fast I am not sure why everyone keeps trying to race our cars, what are they trying to prove by beating a 20yr old Honda? Does this happen to you guys too?

Usually it's also other Hondas that keep trying too. I've had a few Civic Si's try and race me too.

That does happen to me occasionally. It helps that my car looks and sounds stock, and that I'm old. But still it happens. Especially at night when a lot of those mitigating factors aren't readily apparent.

Imagine you're a kid thats watched too much F&F, played too many car race video games. Now you finally have an actual car, and you want to live the experience for real. You try and check off boxes racing against all those cars you've seen in those media. Hunting for them like a fighter pilot wanting to paint another kill on the side of his cockpit.

Its not about winning, its about living out the experience. But you almost never see any of the cars from the video games. Yeah, you see plenty of riced out Civics, sometimes an Evo, etc. Finally you roll up next to an elusive car thats stared prominently in both the films and the video games. A real life S2000!

Of course he's going to want to 'race' you.

It happens.. the S2000 despite his age has a very sporty look and reputation. Best thing is just ignore them and keep your pace.

Beat up badly modified Civics and clean but loud Volkswagons for me.

Not too often, but it happens.

I also ride a BMW R 1200 RT without the saddle bags, it looks like a big sport bike, I get the same thing from Crotch Rocket riders on that.

Bone stock. NFR, maybe that’s part of it.

They are realy really uncommon around here. I commute about 50 miles/day and drive around a lot and have only seen 4 or 5 in the past year.

I don't entertain it. Unless Im on back-roads. Then I'm just a turn or two away from my enjoyment, and their shameful lack of twisty skills.

Yeah totally stock, like I don't give off any impression that my car is modified or I wanna race, I almost don't wanna drive around town because of the attention someone is gonna cause an accident trying to show off
