Everything I've learned from S2ki.com
[QUOTE=__redruM,May 12 2007, 05:02 PM] >49. It's possible to add sound deadening and quiet the car somewhat. Passenger footwell above the tranny, convertible tray, and over the hollow gas tank for starters. Firewall also helps.
Anyone have the details on this (with pictures)?

Yup, full size STAND BAGS. Not the big Pro bags. Listed the "full size" part to reinforce that they weren't the little nylon "Sunday bags" that carry 1/2 set of clubs.

hey man don't cop an attitude with me. I was replying to the people who were questioning it.
Or else you're really, really sensitive.
Do us a favor and just say you were joking.
Quite a random assortment of knowledge, but thanks for posting Ckit!
I'd caution anyone reading to do a search on any statement topics and still start discussions as not everything is an absolute fact or way to do things though. If something catches your eye, start a discussion about it!
4. Plan on replacing OEM rear tires @ 10-15k miles.
I'd say 4/32 and go by wear, not mileage, although between 10-17k is how long OEm tires seem to last. OEm tires are notorious for hydroplaning when they reach the end of their tread.
5. Winter tires for winter.
If you live in an area that gets lasting snow, the main point being do not drive summer tires in the snow, they are like hockey pucks and offer zero traction. In fact, under 40

50. I went to Crutchfield.com and ordered $500 worth of stuff. Included Pioneer HU that plays MP3 disks, the IPOD adapter that displays playlists on the HU (so you can hide your IPOD away), amplified subwoofer, Infiniti door speakers, and the PAC SWI-PS.
The PAC works with the dash controls as if they were steering wheel remote controls and retains their function with your HU.
Others have found good use with the Modifry.com adaptor to retain dash controls. It has the added features of speed sensitive volume controls (but this may cause a lot of random beeping in the Pioneer whenever the volume is auto-adjusted).

x 100%Over the years, I've come across things that I didn't even know existed... like hood dampers, aftermarket traction control, etc.
Hopefully this can be a starting point for some directed searches and discussions. If I didn't know hood dampers were called hood dampers, I'd never be able to search for them....

I'm the same way - tons of little tdbits picked up along the way. Really makes you appreciate the site and the knowledgeable people here when you think about it.
Well said.
great list! maybe in the future if this stays as an FAQ thread or whatever, we can stick links or something next to the line items.
edit: actually, looks like there is already a FAQ thread. maybe we can add to it?
