From EVO to S2K to EVO and back to S2K?!?!

I went thru the same exact thing. I wanted an EVO soooooo bad before that Id day dream about it. As for the STI, eh, theyre alright. Before buying my S, I test drove an EVO 9 first, then STI. Both cars are sweet and fast(er) in some cases. But after driving the S on the dealer, I never went back and drove my brand new NFR S2000 home with a big smile in my face and that big smile of satisfaction and pleasure that the S2000 gives me never went away to this day and prolly forever. lol.

Sounds like your mind is made up to me, sell the Evo (again), buy and S2000 and drive that until you get tired of it and want an Evo again

Nevermind that the Miata single-handedly brought back the roadster by itself. Without the success of the Miata, the S2000, Z3, Z4, SLK, etc, etc would not exist today.
And you should probably check your facts about what S2000s dominate as well. S2000s are king of the parking lot in A-stock as well.
Hate as you must, but the S2000 has the same lineage as the Miata - lightweight, great handiling, soulful purpose.

.. Yeah its true, the miata did sell very good. I mean a car thats been around that long ( 
since like 1991) and still sell new out of the show room, has to be a great car!
