Default Exedy clutch owners

I've been searching for several days on this topic, but haven't found a ton of info on it. Most of what I found has been from the same couple of people or from non-owners saying it sucked.
So, if you actually own this clutch kit, how do you like it? After you got used to it, were you able to easily drive it?
The reason I ask is I'm looking for a full kit for around $1000. The other two options were the HTG kit or the Competition, but both of those I've read has softer clutch engagement than stock. I know some people like this, but even for driving on the street I'd like my clutch to be stiffer, and certainly not softer.
Some background: I drive daily with T1R coilovers (not on softest setting), Spoon single exhaust, and on a previous car I had an ACT set-up with a 2600lb pressure plate, so I'm not one to complain if mods aren't luxurious

Can any owners who don't just track their cars help me out?
Thanks.

I have yet to track my car, and I love my clutch. I, too, like to ride around on a stiffer suspension setting (probably so my wheels won't rub). The clutch isn't noticeably stiffer to engage, but the on/off point is much smaller. You'll stall a few times at first, but then you won't have to think about it. I give it a

This is the Exedy Hyper, correct? How long have you had it, and have you tried it in any stop-go traffic?

I've had it for 1.5 yrs I guess. I live in Atlanta, we have some of the worst traffic in the nation. It sucks to have any stick shift if you ask me.

I know we had our PM time but, thought I post up my response to your PM question. This way if anyone else is interested in this clutch they will have some more good info

Like you, I have a 70 mm T1R exhaust and my car has suspension but, the Exedy hyper clutch was a bit much for me. The engagement was not to bad with it. The drivability was good too.
The thing about it that I did not like was reverse, it would chatter, also when you get on the car hard and go through the gears, every gear would bang hard!! No slip at all!! That is not good because you can brake stuff. If you get one you will have to learn to slip the clutch your self or you will blow the rear diff for sure.
A better choice would be an 70% over stock clutch set up like Clutch Master, ACT, or Center force.
You will have better drivability for your day to day commute and with a full disc rather than a 6 puck there will be no chatter.

My 2 cents
This is the Exedy Pretty

This is my new setup Spec with OEM flywheel

Which Spec clutch is that, and how does it compare to the Exedy?

Also, you mentioned in your PM that I'd have to watch out for drivetrain damage with a strong clutch, as it doesn't slip. Is this to say that with hard, but normal driving (meaning redlining, but shifting fast and correctly without making mistakes) a stronger clutch like the Exedy is still likely to break other drivetrain parts?
