Well, I was washing my car the other day cause its a Berlina and impossible to keep clean and I must have gotten some water into my spugen dual ti exhaust cause when I started it up it sounded completely different. The exhaust normally is really deep and very agressive at WOT but after the wash it sound almost like a WRX with a exhaust. That real sputter, inconsist tone to it. Sounded cool I'm not complaining but it goes away after about an hour of driving. Just curious if anyone else has noticed this before or why its doing that.

 

yea spray a strong stream of water into your mufflers (park the car on an incline so it runs out) and it'll sound really different. i guess it washes away some of the exhaust dust buildup from the inside which changes the acoustics inside the exhaust.

 

my guess is you're wetting the glass packing inside the muffler and its losing its muffling characteristics until it dries out.

 

Be careful about spraying water into your exhaust - if it sits it can rust out the pipes over time.
