I think you should definitely give the HKS a shot...the dual is known to make one of the best sounding tones for the S2000. I miss it every now and then.
If you want burble...you need a 70mm with a test pipe. My Tomei does it once in a while. I had the 70RR before but it didn't burble as much as the Tomei. Word of warning, they are both loud, but they crack and burble...
My dad (who is a pretty good welder) did mine up for me a few years ago. Who ever did yours, did a terrible job, see pic below of mine. When with approximately 1.75" and it sounds pretty damn good if you ask me. I do in fact get some pops and cracks on overrun at redline. No droning. Also, he hit it with a can of ceramic paint to protect it, looks like it came from the factory.
That is very clean looking, good welds. My UK mod does not look that good lol, but I find it to be relatively loud with a Berk test pipe. I am going to go HFC to quiet it down a bit and get rid of the horrible smell lol.
On the overrun pops and bangs note, I had a Puegeot 206 RC180 that had an extremely loud exhaust and it popped and banged like nobodys business, it got old quick lol.
I went with 1.5" UK mod and a K&N FIPK, with the intake being installed a year after. The UK mod was a bit quiter than I wanted, but I got used to it and really like the deeper tone. How it should have came stock IMO.
