Experimenting with LED side marker lights
I ordered some wedge LED lights for my side makers from this place:

As far as I can tell, they install right into the stock socket, so it will be easy to test them. I'll report back when the test has been done.
Too bad they don't make wedge LEDs in the right size for the front turn signal. But I do think that some of the other LED arrays they sell may fit the rear lamp assemblies.
The LEDS give an instant on/off, with no dimming characteristics when they switich off, and of course, they last forever, which is how long I'm keeping my S2000.
Many manufacturers are already beginning the switch to LEDS for brake and turn signals.

I recently noticed that, almost overnight, they changed all the local traffic signals to using LED lights. It's amazing what a difference they make; the lights are so much brighter (higher intensity) now - especially when you're driving directly toward them. Apparently, the changeover throughout the city was done as a long-term cost saving measure, because of the long life expectancy of the new LEDs.
I'm going to be looking at the possibility of replacing the tail lights on my S2K with LED replacements. I feel that the current red stop lights and the turn signal lights are really very weak - especially in misty or foggy conditions.
Thanks Rick for passing this info on. Looking forward to hearing about the results you get with the side markers.
