If you are considering buying the honda warranty you can still buy the new car warranty 7 yrs 100000 mile warranty, if you are still under the 3yr 36000 mile original. and should not pay any where near $2000. You shuld probably pay around $1200 or so. With the cost of repairs on vehicles today I buy them on all my cars, It also includes roadside assistance, gas tire changes etc, rentals, and peace of mind for my wife when she is driving if she ever breaks down in her crv. Every one is entitled to their opinions I am just giving mine.
But is that Hondacare or an extended manufacturoer warranty?

hondacare warranties, and many other such "service contracts" are useless. if you read the fine print, they can deny warranty work for just about any reason. and then YOU are stuck with the hassle of trying to fight it legally, which they gamble you won't do since you'd pay more to fight it than to have gotten the parts fixed at your own expense in the first place.

many people here have learned that hard way that extended warranties are often useless.

Hondacare sucks. I had it on my Passport - the engine blew at 45K miles and they won't cover the new engine saying I drove the car without oil. They found something that I can't prove (that I drove it with oil) and are using that to screw me. I kept all records of oil changes and maintenance per the warranty contract and they still found a way to screw me out of what they should have paid.
Be very careful with extended warranties. I don't think they are worth the paper they are printed on.

Having seen hundreds of warranty claims be approved with out any arguement from warranty companies shows to me they are not useless. There have benn some claims denied on this site, sure, but how many others have been approved on civics, accords, pilot, crv etc... Not every one will agree with me and that is ok, I have seen too many claims approved on cars from manufacturers good will to warranty companies approvals to be so negative towards warranty companies.

If you buy extended warranties for your electronics, appliances, furnitures ... then you should buy extended warranties for your cars.

Personally, I do not buy extended warranty for anything.

I've actually made use of extended warranties on electronics and always get them as I've come out ahead doing so.

Now, the car contracts are stacked against you.
