I purchased the extended warranty when I bought the car (6yr/100000mile Honda Warranty).

The extended warranty starts the day I by the car with the warranty. So effectively, I have a 3 year 100,000 mile warranty after my 3 year 36000 mile warranty is up.

Can one buy the extended warranty anytime during the factory warranty? If so that would mean I would get a full 6 years after my factory warranty is up!

It just doesn't make sense to have double the warranty during the first 3 years!

Any thoughts on this.

 

If the extended warranty begins on the day after the factory warranty ends, then what happens if you use up 36,000 miles in say, 2 years? Does that mean you only have a 5 year 100,000 mile warranty? Just wondering.
