Negative. Hondas don't break. I got the extended warranty when I bought the car. I totally regret it now that they don't fix any of the problems that normally occur.

Extended warranties on a Honda would be a good deal for the warranty company. Some of them have been known to go out of business after taking people's money. Do what you feel comfortable with but if it was me, I'd pass.

Nope.

Most extended "warranties" are actually more like insurance policies. As such, you do not get the same legal protection you get with a "WARRANTY."

Hondacare (for example) is the in the extended "warranty" business, and there is a clause in their policy that says that ANY modification voids the entire policy.

So unless you buy OEM tires, Honda Oil filters, Honda air filters, etc. Basically EVERYTHING 100% OEM, they will just deny your claim and refund you partially what you paid.

Complete waste of money. It's a scam IMNSHO.

take a look at the warranty book first and see what is actually covered under warranty. you will see the list is pretty long of things that are not covered

It's simple, you don't have a warranty. You have an insurance policy. They can void it on whatever terms they set forth in the policy as long as you signed it.

I'm just curious. Say I have mods and stuff and I bring in my car for an oil change with it on. Will they #### me by voiding my warranty even if I'm not going in for warranty issues? It's kind of a hassle to take everything off each time and I woud like to go to the dealer for all maintainence plans instead of doing it myself.

3yrs ago I got into a CAR ACCIDENT. I had 48k miles on my 00s2k and had purchased the 7yr 100k honda care 0 deduct. My car was lowered, 18"work wheels on it, aftermarket CD player, and spugen exhaust & cf hood. Now my motor mount had BROKE in half during the accident. Car would vibrate all to hell. I took it to Honda and what da ya know, HONDA CARE paid for my new motor mount installed & everthing, I paid nothing. THIS WAS NOT MY INSURANCE CO. I didn't wanna go back to the body shop cuz they took forever to fix my car. So, yeah, they're worth it. And it may be a HONDA, but the service dept doesn't get rich on oil changes....They DO break. If they didn't, then honda should offer 7yr 100k warranties free. I work for Toyota, and they break too.

It helped me on our Prelude. When we had to do the big 90,000 miles tune up- timing belt and such- they only charged me for the parts, labor was free. That may also be because I knew the service manager, but they did put it down as Honda Care extended warrenty work.
