hard to say, are you talking about a NEW car?

You already get 3/36 so you're only buying an extra 2 years. IMO it's not worth it b/c my S2000 doesn't look like it'll need more than $1100 worth of work in 2 years (but who knows?).

You KNOW the dealer is making money on the deal so what does that tell you?

An extended warranty is like an insurance policy, do you want to insure what is probably going to be minimal potential outlay for $1100 outlay? Are you sure you are even going to keep the S2000 for 5 years?

Plus put interest on the $1100 and you're talking $1300.

My wife and I have owned 5 new cars over the years. If we had bought the extended warranties we would have spent $6k+. Our most expensive repair was about $800 and it was a wear item on an 11 year old vehicle with 115k miles that wouldn't have been covered anyway.

well let me rephrase that.....if you're planning on doing ANY mod on your car then don't get it....some dealer is fine with intake but MOST will give you a hard time if you go in for any warranty repair or what not.....

Then your extended warranty would be VOID. Read the fine print. You can't so much as change a lugnut unless it's OEM.
