Default F20C1 head flow #'s

Just did a little research, in comparing the F20C1 head flow/cam lift (only on intake side vs a few domestic V8's)

no wonder it makes so much power for it's size....

all @ lift 28"

F20C1(S2000) max intake lift .460 (had to convert from 10" lift to 28" lift)
87 @ .100
174 @ .200
241 @ .300
288 @ .400
311 @ .500

98 4.6 DOHC (Cobra) max lift on cam intake .394
96 @ .100
167 @ .200
223 @ .300
244 @ .400
248 @ .500

LS1 .472 max lift on 97-99 cam intake in C5
83 @ .100
134 @ .200
189 @ .300
222 @ .400
240 @ .500

5.7 Hemi (couldn't find specs on the cam)
65 @ .100
144 @ .200
214 @ .300
250 @ .400
262 @ .500

Yes, when we did the flow testing on the F20C we were very impressed (data is at www.alaniztechnologies.com and there is an article at www.vtec.net). Looking at all the data I've been able to find, its arguably the best production cylinder head around. Especially when you begin to look at its valve area and port volume vs. some of the other heads out there. Its even more impressive from that perspective, because, as usual, Honda has done more with less.

I'm kind of surprised by those numbers as well. But the formula for making power (on gas engines anyways) is by burning more fuel and air. So to get all of that power, Honda engineers knew they needed a design that would flow air very well. The F20C1 is the realization of their vision.

UL,

When do you think that the next article will be out? We are all eager to see if you can drum up some extra HP for those who want to stay NA

Actually, a member here was supposed to have his head in the shop over the holidays. We did all the before dyno work, etc. Unfortunately, he had some personal issues that got in the way. At the rate we're going, my warranty is up in March, so maybe I'll just do the headwork myself - but I really wanted someone who wasn't involved with the project to do it as they'd be less biased toward any particular result.

if you want to stay na id suggest raising displacement to 2.3 liters and about 40 more ponies will be there for you to punish your tires with. this is good time for an exhaust, header and new air box. head work is the best though, cams, gears and valves. expensive but the most numbers out of an N/A motor are found here.

Feels makes a good stroker kit that might be better to buy when you are thinking to rebuild, because it comes with a $5000.00 price tag
