It's pretty typical for the European and Japanese versions to run different compression because of the different gas that's available there. So it may technically produce a bit more power.
Ya ... really depends. I believe Japan has 98 (RON) rating for the most part, which equates to around 94 in R+M

About the gear ratios, I tried to rev till cut off, the F20C1 reached 67 precisely and the F20C2 reached 70, there might be some difference due to the tires? My friend has the F20C1 USDM 2001 with 16" wheels, while mine is 2004 F20C2 with 17" wheels. So probably that's the reason.

mine is MY05 with F20C2 engine & AP1 on the VIN
i have compared between MY03 (US Spec) & it seemed that my gear ratios are longer so at the same speed ill be at a lower RPM.

we raced each other, my S2K is Bone Stock, his S2K has Exhaust, Headers & CAI.. we both had passengers (mine an adult, his a high skool short student )
1st pull: he was right behind my bumper untill 200km (125mph)
2nd pull: i was behind his door next to him.
3rd pull: behind me with almost a half car gap.

with that said i LOVE the F20C2
i'v heard that it is the revised version of the F20C1 (which is better)

I think Honda will agree with you too since they just announced the Ultimate Edition will have the F20C1 in it. This will be the last of the production of the S2000

My Bad , there is no mention of if it's F20C1 or F20C2, the article (honda tuning) just says it will have the F20C in it. Though they did mention there will only be 100 Ultimate Editions made.

It's made for Europe, 2009, hence F20C2. 100 cars only, they will all be the same. No F20C(JDM) will be placed in any Ultimate version.

Ya, like I said above ... the F20C2 engine drives much like an F22C engine. I actually couldn't feel a diff between F22C and F20C2. However, the diff between F20C1 and F20C2 is huge ...
