Default f22c by Yamaha?

a friend of mine took the oil pan off recently of his '05 f22c and claims to have seen a Yamaha stamp in there on the block. has anyone else seen this or can explain how that all went down? anyone have pictures? any info at all?

The Volvo V8 is a yamaha design too, I think it was derived from the SHO motor. but I am not buying the F22c relation.
