f22c by Yamaha?
yes, i realize that toyota and Yamaha have had a great history starting with the 18rg from the late '60s, but to find it on a honda sounded weird to me as well. friend swears up and down thought hat it was there....someone crack open a block and look!

Yamaha built the 2ZZ-GE in the last Celica GT-S but I highly doubt Honda would contract out anything on the F20C or F22C. Especially a cast item like the block which, correct me if I am wrong, was derived from an older Accord block. Yamaha engineers are very good with airflow and high rpm engine dynamics because of their involvement in motorcycles. Honda competes with Yamaha in that motorcycle industry and would be corporate suicide to admit a defeat like that.
The K series is based on the F20C, though.
The star-shaped mark you often see in castings to help determine time and date was likely confused for the Yamaha symbol. They look similar in lots of ways.

I think you're referring to the F20B? That was an accord engine, but the F20C is not based on it. Totally different. the F20B is more like a H22.

the f20c was indeed based on the f20b accord engine.
