Default Is the factory oil cooler really necessary?

Im relocating my oil filter and do not want to keep the factory oil cooler.
Is there a huge difference in temps?

If its not necessary do you think Honda would put it there for shits and giggles? The answer is obvious and logical...YES. Honda would not design and put somthing into a car if it had no benifit.

It's an oil heater as well as cooler. When the water's hotter than the oil, it heats it. When it's cooler it cools it. If you have a factory warranty, you'll void it. I suspect you'll see longer warmup times and you'll probably get accelerated wear from cold oil.

You can't just bolt the relocation kit onto the oil cooler?

That's probably because you purchased the canton relocator which does not allow for the relocation of the factory cooler as well.

This one comes with all lines and hardware and allows factory oil cooler relocation:

Its not highway robbery. If it was just the hoses and clamps, maybe. For $250, metal braided lines would be nice, but it doesn't quite qualify as highway robbery.
