However, I'm not sure I'd take it to Maco. Maco is kinda the place you might take a 17yo beater that has various colored body panels from a junkyard so that all of the panels can match (kinda). A 2005 S doesn't deserve that kinda cruel and unusual punishment.
Macco did this paint job:

Took 2nd in paint at one car show.

Ha, I wouldn't take a matchbox car for Maaco to paint.

I actually have damage right in front of my reight rear tire too - the body work is dimpled from getting pushed up on the bottom. The body shop told me it is more trouble than its worh to fix, and its not that visible imo.

Can you take a pic and post it up?

Factory strakes are ugly IMO, but it's your car. If you like em, get em.

You have to realize Maaco is compromising on the attention that goes into the paint job when they will paint an entire car for $299. I'm sure there are examples of good work done by Maaco but the car was probably owned by the person painting it.

I like the look but never like the idea of drilling into the side panel. Drilling a hole creates a big corrosion potential. You can always, of-course, use somthing like PUR-15 to coat the broken paint and elecrocoating (primer).

That's the way I feel - snce fixing the problem would cost so much, and its not really that visible, I've gotten over it. Side strakes were a consideration but not worth it imo.

I will take a pic when I get home in November. It is one of those more trouble than it's worth dents. Most people don't see it, but I know it's there. That's why I wondered about the side strakes.

I don't like them, so I guess I will either live with the dent or get it fixed. The money could go towards other upgrades is what pisses me off.
Have you considered PDR - Paintless Dent Removal.

Had a dent about the size of the quarter located just above the character line on the driver's side quarter panel. I was extremely upset and immediately got in touch with "Dent Wizard" - PDR experts that have technicians all across the country.

I had the dent fixed for JUST $75!!! The guy popped a hole inside the rear wheel well and then proceeded to wiggle this tool inside. 10 minutes later, there was absolutely NO trace of the dent. I'd highly recommend you take this route if possible. I know the guy mentioned that it would be tough to do if the dent was near the edge of a body panel, but it can't hurt to ask.

look in you local forums and see if ppl host dent days, if its small enough they'll fix it for you.
and IMO side strakes look janky... i dont like it... just find something aftermarket if your covering up boo-boo's... at least it'll look better

If you decide to settle for the side strakes, I saw a set on eBay last night for pretty cheap, and they're GPW. Good Luck w/ whatever you decide to do.
