Got my car inspected last night. My car has 5k miles, and it failed the gas cap test, where they remove the cap and screw it into some sensor thingamabob. He told me that certain years of Hondas and Toyotas ALWAYS fail this test because of the design of the cap. The guy was nice enough to pass me, but I've never heard of this before?

 

was the guy's pants down around his ankles?

if so, he may have been raping your car.... right in front of you!!!!!

 

I've only seen the tests in MA, but that is one of the most idiotic things I've heard when it comes to inspections. The state is obviously not going to fail a car if everyone like it has a similar style gas cap.

 

hey i would bring it to honda and maybe get a new one
i think the dealer has something to test that also

 

Some 02's have problems with gas caps coming loose(as mine did)go to a dealer have have it replaced. I believe a pressure test can be done on the cap.

 

My cap was defective a threw the CEL light all the time. It wouldn't seal or sit down on the neck properly. A new one fixed that problem.

i also own a 02 suzuka blue and I recently had my car inspected at the honda dealership where i purchased it... with no problems.
