The Fast and The Furious
You guys can try to be as cool as you want. But when the first movie came out it was not half bad and many of the trends in it were very popular. Of course times change and FF2 was nothing but a cash cow.
Still it drives me nuts that so many people act like the trends in 1998 were never "cool" when at the time you were using words like "fat" and "da bomb" about half the cars in the movie.

This is the car you're looking for. Belongs to RJ. Knew his brother from my old DJ'ing days.
Should've seen what he drove in college:

Imagine driving me driving into a UCLA parking lot in my old hand me down car and seeing that!
And if you wonder what RJ looks like, he was the Asian guy in the early racing scene with Paul Walker, Vin Diesel, and Ja Rule.

It's "Point Break" with cars instead of surfing.
Hahahaha! I remember that movie!
Anthony Kiedis (Red Hot Chili Peppers), "Sh!t, Sh!t... We're f$%ked!"
What a great blast from the past!
Oh come on, it's only "cool" to make fun of that movie now. You can pick apart any movie, and who ever said it was supposed to be a great theatrical work or an instructional video?
Me, I liked that movie, not a bit ashamed to admit it, had some exciting scenes, some hot women and (for the time) some cool cars. I laughed at the rediculous parts but don't we have to allow some latitude for entertainment value? Hell, I watched Torque & FF2 also, they were a little farther down the chain but still weren't lumped into the set of movies I just couldn't bother watching all the way through.
I'd put money (agreeing with a comment from above) that 80% of the people here so mortified by that movie enjoyed the hell out of it the first time they saw it until it was declared cheese and picked apart!
....To the original poster, the "Honda 2000, with over $100 grand under the hood" in the first one was a lot more fun to look at during it's brief appearance than the one in the 2nd. What they did to the S in FF2 was just shameful
