That doesn't sound right, I imagine the Evo's pull nearly 1G on the skidpad STOCK. Unless of course the Vishnu car was very lightly modded in the suspension department.
Also I don't think that car really pulls 3 second flat 0-60's. Does the Vishnu 5 grand kit step up to a bigger turbo?

i have seen numbers for the EVO range from .90 to .98, so it's anyone's guess. Regardless, skidpad numbers don't have a whole lot of application to real world racing.
EVO's are great daily driver IF you leave the stock turbo on them, once you go big the drivability sucks. Five weeks after I bought my EVO it ran 11.58@119.6 on the stock turbo, some more mods and it ran 10.92@124.9 on the stocker, very streetable. With the GT35r it can go 145mph though the 1/4 but spool up is bad on pump gas. Still like the S2K for a daily driver better. here is a link to some info on my EVO: CBEVO
doesnt look a show setup to me, also says in the article that it is new paint, it used to be suzuka. saying that is show is like saying the j's racing s2000 is show (which by the way there are a few j's racing decals on this one)

Of all the magazines, I'd trust superstreet the least. Too many cars on there have undocumented/claimed power/time numbers. Don't go look at magazines for the fastest cars, go the track or track divisions of online boards, etc.
As far as the EVO goes. Let's be realistic. It MUST have
4 new, fairly large injectors
fuel pump(?)
New clutch [flywheel?]
Very good engine control
Larger than stock turbine
Advanced cooling because the stock intercooler has low capacity
That is at least 2.5-3.5k in parts, not including tuning or installation. I'll assume they put A LOT more little parts in there as well plus the difference is the profit to add to $5k+/-.
You are still rolling on the stock transmission which is a POS from day 1. It won't be reliable and you'd still need lots of cooling mods.
Comparing an open chassis n/a 4 cyl. to a highly tuned turbo 4wd is just foolish. Ofcourse the 4wd turbo is going to get better 0-60's and all around performance potential, but it still won't have the charisma of a s2k or fun factor, to me.
