Do your cat a favor, and declaw him

For god sakes, you don't want to take the S away from him do you?

You are gonna be ok,

Now my brother and sisters cat is a different issue. He has some sort of bladder issue where he can't control his bowels. So he sleeps on and pees on my car all the time. Sometime urine is caked on my car up to 2mm thick in spots. It's hell and I hate it but it's the only indoor place i can't park my car regularly. I had a cover but it's so soaked with urine it's practically useless.

Zeus is a member of the family though, and he honestly can't do anything about it.

Haha, thanks guys. I think it'll be alright, he always seems very gentle with the S. I leave my garage cracked open for him to go in/out of so I can't keep him out. I do, however, have a problem with him while I change my oil, he kept jumping up into the engine bay last week, I had to throw him inside for a bit.

If it looked like this, I'd get a hardtop.

There are ways to deter the cat from sitting on top. There are scent sprays and double-sided tapes.

Beautiful cat, btw. Recently, my cat pushed my laptop off the table and broke it in two. I got angry at first, then realize that laptops are easy to replace; my cat is priceless. Just like your softop and your cat... hardtops are a few thousand dollar, but that pales in comparison with your cat's happiness, right?

If that's a boy, he's probably more like 15-18 lbs (he looks similar sized to our cat Norman, who feels like a big sack of potatoes). The problem I have noticed is that cats can press a lot of weight down in a small spot, and I would worry about it stretching the top fabric over time. Heck, Norman can squash the crap out of my laptop when he walks on top of it (closed). If it was me, I'd stick something rigid under the cover (perhaps a piece of 1" expanded foam sheet -- you can by it at home centers). That would at least spread the weight and keep the paws/claws off the fabric.

Have any of you ever wondered why our company is called "Cool Cat Racing?"

The founder, Tripper Cook, and his wife Cindy, are cat crazy. Their home is filled with all manner of cat art, including everything from paintings and stained glass, to sculptures and photographs; Their family incluides about a half dozen cats, and if you visit them at home, their cats WILL sleep on your car, IF (and only if) they like you. Same thing happens when you visit us. If our cats like you, they'll sleep on your car every time you visit.

Anyway, if you can't handle having a cat (or cats) abusing your car a little, you wouldn't fit in very well at CCR. Cats first, racing and cars afterward. An S2000 can be replaced, but every cat is unique.

Haha, agreed. I don't mind him up there at all. That's a good idea skier, thanks!
