Awww pretty kitty. If your cat is anything like mine, he/she thinks that YOU are living in ITS house. Don't take away his new bed... he's just showing your S love when you can't. Shouldn't be harmful, unless the claws come out...

This one sleeps on the top - on the rare occassions that it is up
This one sleeps in the passenger footwell.
Neither is declawed. Do you realize that declawing means amputating the diget that has the claw? That means cutting off the first joint of all his toes.

I've got 2 cats that love their $34K hammock. I've worried about them possibly streching the top fabric, but in 2+ years I've seen no streching. Your top will tear on the passenger side well before any cat damage will appear. One thing to watch is how they get up on to the car. One of my cats is middle aged and can still jump up on to the car. The other is small and old and has to climb up. This has left little paint scratches where his claw catches on the edge of the hood gap above the drivers side head light. I got upset at first and put pepper and such on the top to keep them off, double sided tape traps, etc. I finally decided that we are both getting pretty old and need to enjoy things while we can. I DD the car 300+ ml/week having my fun, and "Runt" is spending his golden years in the shade of the tree next to the drive in his hammock.

Have any of you ever wondered why our company is called "Cool Cat Racing?"
The founder, Tripper Cook, and his wife Cindy, are cat crazy. Their home is filled with all manner of cat art, including everything from paintings and stained glass, to sculptures and photographs; Their family incluides about a half dozen cats, and if you visit them at home, their cats WILL sleep on your car, IF (and only if) they like you. Same thing happens when you visit us. If our cats like you, they'll sleep on your car every time you visit.
Anyway, if you can't handle having a cat (or cats) abusing your car a little, you wouldn't fit in very well at CCR. Cats first, racing and cars afterward. An S2000 can be replaced, but every cat is unique.

pet for some of us is more than just a cat/dog, i treat my cat better than i treat myself. I always get the best food, a/c on during the hot day and her bed/living area is always clean. Declawing is just plain wrong, would be mute your children just because they talk too much? it's part of the charm and they just being what they are. I have a pole made for her to "tear" and "destroy", she never do it on my sofa after taht.

totally OT but there's a special on the "science diet" in petsmart now..
they are selling the 30 buck big package cat chow at 25 buck, on top of that they are having a promotion item thing(i got a measuring cup), at the counter they have a 1.5 dollar coupon which will take care a good part of the tax.
After the purchase you will get a mail in giftcard thing for five buck
so 30 buck worth of cat chow for 20 buck

If your concerned, I suggest throwing a pair of thick towels or light rigid bottom cat bed on top of the car when you park it. If the kit likes the idea, it may spread out the weight and prevent the claws from reaching the roof plastic.
Otherwise I can't see a major problem, I suspect the cat's claws would have a tough time penetrating the roof material.
