Default Fat Cat

I've done some searching on this subject but never really found any definite answers. I recently got a fairly low mileage silverstone MY00 and immediately bought an OEM car cover and started parking in the garage (which wasn't easy at first, if you can tell) but my cat loves to sleep on the top. This is a daily occurrence. I'm not worried about scratches/tears so much because the car cover protects it somewhat. However, I was wondering if he is putting too much weight on the top. I'd say he weighs about 12-13 lbs. I appreciate your responses! Oh yeah, the top is basically new! Thanks!

i'd be worried if the cat starts using his/her paws. You don't want a tear/hole in your softtop! get the cat OFF the car.

I wish my cat was only 13 lbs. Try 18lbs. But he isn't fat he's fluffy. I don't think it would be a problem but over time I won't want him up there all of the time. Try keeping him out of the garage for a while.

Good luck.

Awww pretty kitty. If your cat is anything like mine, he/she thinks that YOU are living in ITS house. Don't take away his new bed... he's just showing your S love when you can't. Shouldn't be harmful, unless the claws come out...

Ha ha, nice. I use to drive a black del Sol and every time I parked at a certain friends house I would find little dirty cat paw prints all over my car and cat hair on the drivers seat. I never actually saw the cat doing it or saw prints on any other car but mine. I don't drive the S over there...

I dont think it will be an issue, claws would be the only issue i would forsee as being able to damage the top. Take care man.
