I agree the dealer that fixed mine twice has very skilled guys doing the work. They have asked me to contact the region. The dealers do not have the fix.....we must build pressure. I do not think law suits help.

I'm not an expert on this subject, but I believe that 01 cars and cars with the syncro-pac TSB already done, would have a better chance of success with a complete transmission replacement. For cost reasons, Honda probably didn't replace all parts that lead to the tolerance stackup grind issue. This is what I will lobby for when I have the transmission repaired for the second time this coming winter.

I feel your pain...that problem along with a few others, resulted in me selling the car. I think it's a great car, but asking a 4 banger to put out 9K time after time is just too much wear and tear on the engine, I don't feel that Honda made a good move with a 4 cylinder.

The TSB "Fix" is ONLY a band aid. It will be back to the same old crap after several thousand miles. The unfortunate thing is that Honda Customer service really doesn't care.

I also had the TSB done. It's been 6 months and 8,000 miles of absolutely zero grinds.

I've only been in my '01 S2k for two weeks now. I didn't come across this forum until the day after I bought it, so the 1-2 grind problem took me by surprise. I have already noticed a slight "crunch" or "clunk" when shifting from 1 to 2 (only at low rpm so far) on a couple of shifts. It hasn't done it on any other gear. Is this the problem you are all talking about? Can I expect it to get worse with age? Will it eventually damage the tranny? If it is just this occaisional/rare minor crunch sound, I will live with it before I take my car to the shop and let them tear it up more. I've been burned by poor/incorrect service at dealerships before and would rather they not touch it unless absolutely necessary. What do you think?

Thanks for clearing that up for me, YU888! (Big sigh of relief).

Grr. I thought I was a tard making that grind! lol What is a 'TSB'? Plz excuse my ignorance towards cars, it's not my category. I'll be in San Diego in a coulpe weeks and if this fix is free (gotta figure out what to tell the dealer) I would like to go to a good dealer. I got my '00 S2K from Pacific Honda from a lying salesperson (yeah, they still exist) so i am a little edgy about going there. Input would be really appriciated. God, so glad I'm not the total problem on this thing.
