I got my '00 S2K from Pacific Honda from a lying salesperson (yeah, they still exist) so i am a little edgy about going there. Input would be really appriciated. God, so glad I'm not the total problem on this thing.
TSB= Technical Service Bulletin. Honda Issues these when they have multiple complaints about certain things. The TSB's that the MY2000 cars had were #054 &055. One is regarding the clutch noise upon decelleration between 4000-3000rpm (usually in 2nd and 3rd gears), and one is regarding the intermittent grind upon going into second gear from first gear,.

IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU FIND THE MOST QUALIFIED SERVICE TECH TO DO THIS WORK!!! Several owners have had to get theirs redone because of incompetance on the part of the dealer technicians. Since these are free services to us owners, find one you can trust and if possible, make sure the technician working on your car has done many of these jobs before.

I think everyone grinds periodically because of a fast shift or clutchpedal not going all the way down, but if you get it even when you are not trying to shift fast, then you definteily need to talk to the dealer. I told my dealer that I was having this issue intermittently, they listened and I got mine fixed no questions asked. If they do question it, tell them that another owner told you about there being a tech service bulletin on this and see thier response.
Good luck!

Thanks for the definition. Any place I can find written stuff about the TSB(s)? Man, guess who did the grind again today. I just loved doing it next to a Miata, but I don't think he heard cause of my dust clogging his ears Go S2K!!!!

Any bad/good expiriences with service techs in Southern Cali? Seems like the majority or cars are located there and on the east coast.

And here I thought it was me! Nice easy shifting from 1st to 2nd, and from time to time (not often!), can hear the gears grinding!

I also have an annoying noise during deacceration when in 3rd gear, around the 3-4,000 rpm range.

Guess I should ask the dealer to fix both. Just had it over there to get them to fix my convertable boot problem. They lowered the stops for the top, and now it seems to stay in place!
