Figured out why i SPUN!!!
I'm telling you -- it's not an alignment problem. Funky alignments will wear off the edges of your tires, not the center.

I think that fine tuning your tire pressure is something that requires a bit of trial and error. I run a slightly higher pressure and mine wear almost completely even across the tread. I do very little highway driving. Most of my driving is tooling around the city or hammering the corners. I also run some negative rear camber. The combination of rear camber, higher tire pressures and some serious cornering work great for me.

Abnormal wear in the center is indicative of too much air pressure, as PedalFaster said - there is nothing unusual about that, it has been part of basic automotive knowledge for as long as I can remember. Too low, and the edges wear out. No big deal, no mojo involved. It has nothing to do with alignment. When a tire is over-inflated, it bulges in the center, exerting more pressure against the road, hence it wears in the center while the edges, which are lightly loaded, do not wear at the same rate. Kind of looks like a bald head.

It would take running HIGH air pressures to burn out the middle of the tread or doing some straight-line accelerations on over-inflated tires. Even 36psi would not cause the middle to wear so prematurely.
There was a post or thread about somebody's new '04 having something like 40 psi in one or more of the tires.
