Hey Everyone!

Well, 2 Saturday's ago I flew 3,000 miles and the first thing I did from stepping off the plane was get dropped off at the Honda dealership. I had been waiting very anxiously for 4 months. Fortunately, everything worked out great and the car arrived as I was coming back home from a wedding ( I now temporarily live in L.A.). The only time I had seen one in person was at the L.A. auto show and that was on a stand. Well, it was more beautiful than I ever imagined. My Silver/Red was parked right next to another one getting picked up in front of the dealership. My salesman had all of the paperwork ready and in literally 20 minutes the car was mine! It was the easiest purchase (most expensive too) that I had ever made. I bought it for MSRP and she had 14 miles on her. The dealer went over everything including, oil, top, first 600 miles, no spacers and the whole works.

Couple of things I noticed:
1. Reverse??!! Oops, needed to push down on shifter first.
2. The steering wheel doesn't adjust??!!! What the hell? You know what it took about 10 seconds and I was just fine with that.
3. This car is incredible!!
4. Stares, Stares, Stares
5. Did I mention this car is incredible?!
6. I tried putting on the Tonneau cover unsuccessfully. No worries, doesn't seem very convenient anyway.
7. I bought the Honda cover and a sweet pair of Honda gloves. They are designed for Mechanics but look beautiful with Black and Red and are great for driving. A little pricey but I think it's worth it.
8. Never bothered putting the roll in the window while I was putting it down. I figure I'll keep it nice with Plexus and it's just way to convenient pushing the button to lower the top and driving away in 10 seconds.
9. Did you know this car only has a 400 pound load limit? That's right, I weigh 180ish and that means I cannot have someone over 200 1bs. sitting next to me! Well, I guess this means it time to get on a diet for all of us fat asses!

You wouldn't believe how in love I was with this car and I was 100 times happier once I bought it. I can't believe how awesome this car is. Well, to spare you with all of the other details I'll finish up by letting you know where she is now. I shipped her off a couple of days ago from Maryland with Intercitylines. These guys are TOP NOTCH! Cosby, Sienfeld, Peterson Automotive and Carol Shelby are just a few names that they work with. Totally enclosed service and I should be getting her in another 10 days or so.

Well, I just want to introduce Gloria (short for Glorious) number #3045 and Silver/Red in color. Thanks so much for all of your help and support over the last several months that I've been a member and I hope I can return the same kindness down the road to the rest of ya!

Congrats. I think most here are probably aware of most of your post but it never hurts to remind newbies. You really should consider the Miata roll to keep the crease from forming. It's reall annoying.

Where is a good place to buy one? I have only seen one offered, and it was $40, which seems awfully overpriced.

Even if you don't use the roll in the window, put something in the window well (i use a towel) to prevent scratching.

I've been around for several months now but I certainly do appreciate the warm "official" welcome. I probably will wind up using a towel or roll. It just sucks having to get out of the car everytime you want the top up or down and then get back in to finish putting it up or down. I wonder how hard it is to replace the rear window. Thanks again!

Silver...

Your most critical care for the window is not inconvenient at all. You must line the well the window falls into. Muzmat comes to mind.

This way, the most prone side.. the inside, does not scratch. Not only is it the most prone, but the most impossible to polish.

Line this, and plexus the outside once in a while, and enjoy.

Welcome, Silver. I recommend the Muz Mat and the one-piece floor mats as well as Rick Hesel's wonderful leather accessories, especially the console cover to hide that cheesy lint-attracting console carpet. I always use a terrycloth towel to protect the outside rear window when lowering the top; it's well-worth the trouble.
