How is this sad??? This is FANTASTIC, the sooner they discontinue it the more rare the car will be, the more heads it will turn. I hope they just let it die and don't come out with some "s3000" or something, sequels always tend to suck, whether they be movies or cars.
S600 was before the S2000
does that mean the s2000 sucks because it was a sequel

With over 65,000 produced, there shouldn't be any shortages of spare parts for years to come. In a past life I owned a '93 RX-7 twin turbo. No more than 10,000 of those ever came into the U.S.A. That car suffered from severe drivability problems, and because of the rotary engine design, tended to fail emissions tests in many states. (In 2001, I lived in Massachusetts, and the emissions test ended up costing me over $600 in compliance attempts before qualifying for a two year waiver). Our S2000 is a reliable delight to own.
Years of great motoring ahead for current S2000 owners. Let's not shed too many tears, and let us hope that a demand factor develops in the future - I am not averse to owning a collectible.

We can in the meantime enjoy our rides to the fullest!
