LoL! Feel free to laugh at me, I got a flash light and even involved another person in the hunt for the "glovebox" under the passanger dash. Needless to say we didn't find anything.

So the comment about checking the glove box (the real one) was still a joke? I could see why you would say that as it looks like its in an area that would be easily cracked or moved in an accident. It seems to be in good shape. Not even a scratch.

I just got in tonight, its 33 degrees here and we still rode around all day with the top down. I found if you crank the heater on high and turn it on floor heat, it keeps you pretty warm. I think the floor heat is the warmest setting as it makes your feet REAL hot and heat rises.

I know they say its not good to drop the top under freezing right? I also let the heat run for a while to heat everything up before dropping it in the morning. Is there any thing you can/should do to warm up the top before raising it at the end of the night? I've been leaving it down all day long, it even has a wrinkle or two when it raises, lol. Still hasn't rained since I've owned the car, hopefully that keeps up for the rest of the trip =).

I found a back road tonight on the way back to the hotel and really tore up 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gear. She screams to redline without even a complain (except when she has to slow down). If there is or was a problem with this car, it sure doesn't seem to show mechanically.

Looking closely at your rear bumper, I can see that it has been repainted. I noticed that the inner fender lining is black, it should be painted there. All factory painted bumpers have that area inside the fender liner on the rear bumper painted as well, but it looks like the bodyshop didnt paint the inner liner portion on the bumper cover. That can be good in the sense that it will not show rock chips in there.
Where the hole is in the fenderwell there. Is there a metal brace that meets up with the hole? If there is, when you get the screws, just line em up and screw them in and that will keep the bumper for shifting.
As far as the other stuff, I would have a bodyshop look it over and let you know if they notice anything different.

Be careful driving the car when the temps get that cold. I don't want you posting that you just put your car in the rhubarb.

Is there supposed to be a VIN on the rear bumper cover like there is on the front one? I know there is one on the front from when someone put their truck hitch through my front one

Well the car looks nice, even though it was repainted, they did at least do a good job from the pics, but I would have a bodyshop look it over just to make sure and if anything, you can have your lawyer friend convince the dealer to pay for anything the bodyshop finds wrong with the car, as well as pay for any missing parts. The bodyshop can do a paint density test to find the difference in the thickness of the paint on the panels on the car to make sure there wasn't any other damage. To be extra sure, you may want to pull the rear bumper to see if anything looks funny behind it.
It still looks like you got a great deal. Good luck with her and I am sure you will be very happy.

I know on mine the rear bumper has a vin number on it right along the top edge.

I guess I'll have to come to terms with the fact the back bumper was repainted/replaced. I guess that is not a terrible thing?

Do I have to pull it off to see if there is anything else changed back there? The doors, hood, etc all have vin numbers on them. Anyplace else I should look for one? I'll check the front and rear bumper for a vin just for the fun of it later when it warms up a bit, where are they located on the both bumpers?

Either way a rear bumper change shouldn't effect the warranty in any way right?

No, it shouldn't. Not if it was fixed by a professional shop, and you had no idea of it, neither do they, so I wouldnt worry.
My Vin on the rear bumper is along the top edge right under the trunk lid when it shuts down, near the plastic locking tabs that hold the bumper in place.
