Today, I finally got to install the Regamaster EVOs in gunmetal (aka Spoon SW388s) The installers broke my valve stem in the process, so if you see a white S2000 with 3 black valve stems and a chrome valve stem, it's me. Another thing they did was put the wheel weights (I guess that's what it's called) in a position where you could see it. It definitely made the rims look ghetto. I had to have them take it off and mound them behind the spokes of the rims. They were also going to use the impact wrench, but fortunately HondaGuy told them to do it manually. So what's to be learned, make sure you watch the guys installing your aftermarket rims.

I actually got these rims a couple of days ago. First I noticed how light the boxes (that they came in) were. There were two rims in each box, but it was very light. I think the fronts are 11.xlbs and the rears are 12.xlbs. They look good in gunmetal, much better (IMO) then the flat black of the Spoon SW388s. I also got the silver spun center caps and chrome kygogen (spell?) light weight lugs.

IMO, it looks pretty good. More of a race car look. Of course, one of the main reasons why I got the rims was b/c it is more for performance, rather then BLING, BLINGIN'! So of course, there not going to be the best looking rims out there.

I also got some wheel rings from Mingster. It's suppose to stabilize the ride. You cannot put the center caps on with the wheel rings. I decided to put on the center cap b/c after looking at HondaGuy's car, it looked kinda dull without it. I really didn't feel that harsh of a ride, so I think i'll stay with the center caps. Interesting note: After looking at my car, HondaGuy decided to take off the wheel rings and put on the center caps also.

There is a decent size gap. I might lower my car later, but I can live with it.

Thanks WRS2K. After 3 1/2 months of waiting, I finally got them.

Sorry, I didn't really get to finish typing the thread. While I was typing this, HondaGuy called me to inform that the front center caps and the rear were different sizes. He was at discount tire (remember I said that he went back to put on the center caps) waiting for his car to be finished. I had to go back to Discount Tire to have them check it. Of course, after taking off the wheels, we found out they were done correctly the first time. Better safe then sorry, I guess. Another bad thing that happened on this trip was that they stripped the key for the lugs. Both of HondaGuy's keys got stripped too. The installer blamed the material in the key.

What a day... and it's not over yet.

I will eventually post pics, but I would rather post it when my car is lowered, b/c it kinda looks like big foot.

It really shouldn't look too much different than stock. BTW, how are you going to lower?

My Regamaster rims arrived Tuesday and since I was out of town, my neighbor was nice enough to take my car and rims up to my mechanics while I am gone. A set of Hoosiers were mounted and spin balanced. As the car was lowered off the rack the 2 rear tires caught the back fender lips by a good half inch and the car body laid on top of the tires.
He pulled off the 245 rear Hoosiers and mounted 225 SO2's with the same result at about a quarter inch over hang.
I've always kept my tires tucked up in the wheel well about a half inch. I'll have to address this when I get back in town to see if the fenders can be rolled or if I would have to raise the car but there are issues. I really like the car 2.5 inches off the ground and would hate to raise it - we'll see what needs to be done when I get back.

Here is few photos of the Regamaster Rim (I think Gunmetal) installed on white car from my Japanese friend's website.

Here is the same car but underside with some goodies.

and reinforcement chassis bars.

I think I might get Eibach pro-kit springs (or H&R) for now and eventually get coilovers.

I give in. I'll take some pics of my car this weekend if the weather clears up. In the sunlight, the rims have a greenish tint to it. I doubt the camera will pick it up. The picture above gives you an idea, but that car doesn't have the center caps or the most important stickers .

I'm trying to break in the tires, so I haven't really tested it out yet. Also, it's been raining here so that has to do with my controlled behavior. Maybe the others can comment on the performance. I might have a better opinion after this weekend.

So here is what to look for if you get these rims:
1) If you get the center caps, the wheel rings from Mingster will not fit with the caps.
2) If you get the center caps, the fronts are different from the rears.
3) These rims comes with stickers that go around the lip of the rims. You have a choose to put them on, or leave the rims as is. (I'm still undecided)
4) If you get the kykogen lightweight (sp?) lugs, it comes with a weak key material that get's stripped easily.

Here's my opinion on the rims:
1) Wow, they are light
2) There's a greenish tint to them
3) It looks much better with the center caps (HondaGuy's opinion also)
4) You not going to get alot of looks with them (My friend's, non car guys, didn't even notice)

I'm running 225x50 and 245x45 BFG g-Force KDWs. When the installer took of my stock rims with 15,000 miles on my original SO2s, I noticed that the metal was coming out of the inner side of the tire. I'm sure if I would have put on a couple more thousand miles, my tires would have blown. So if you have alot of miles on your S02s, make sure you check the inner side of the rear tires. Since you can't see it when your looking at your car, you have to reach inside (carefully) and feel any metal, better yet, just take off your wheels and look at the tires.

Does anyone know what causes this? I don't understand why this happens. This happened to two of my previous cars that had eibach springs. My S2000 is stock, so there was no change in suspension or camber.
