This is what I told you to do, but I still think this is a lame idea.

Many cars come with a fire extinguisher as standard equipment.
Just stick it somewhere in the trunk. The remote possibility of a fire in a S2000 does not warrant having a bottle crowding your cockpit.
There are many stories of fires in S2000's however, usually related to quick oil change joints being careless and not removing a stuck oil filter gasket, then installing a new oil filter... you drive out and minutes later BOOM... oil all over engine bay and over exhaust manifold and bingo, you get a nice fire. No fire extinguisher immediately available? Pity.

OK, if it is there for genuine saftey and is completely hidden from sight, thats ok... kinda excess but ok.

If that thing is visable from eigther inside out even worse, outside the vehicle............

yes and we could call your non painted CF hood on silver rice to roja
The S is stock now, but come on. Lets compare Apples to apples here. A fire extinguisher in a daily driver is rice. I think you should mount it in the middle of your dash, just so everyone can see it and laugh.

Ryan

BTW...didnt you start the "CF Hood on Silverstone thread"?

I'm on the fence with this one...

IMHO....if you are heavily modded or FI it would not hurt to have an extinguisher.

We had a local member who's car caught on fire and an extinguisher would have minimized the damage. Instead he had to watch it burn.

I've personally seen extinguishers installed to the floor directly infront of the PASSENGER seat. It will limit the mobility of the passenger seat rails.

The days of mounting extinguishers on the passenger A-pillar are gone IMO. As explained it's so unbelievably dangerous you can't even imagine.

Consider if you REALLY need it... and then you might reconsider actually installing one.

If you get two small ones you can put them UNDER the passenger seat or even the driver seat. Thats what I would say to do.

In the past, my 99 Eclipse GST caught on fire twice. Both times were from the oil dipstick poping out and squirting oil on the O2 housing and alternator. Needless to say I Huffed and I puffed and I blew the fvcking fire out...but after the second time I kept a small fire extinguisher with me, under the driver seat. And then shortly sold the car.
