I've never understood the whole fire extinquisher thing at all. To me, it says "my car is such a pos, that it could ignite at any second."

I wouldn't bother unless you're running some sort of crazy FI setup and tracking it a lot. As for an actual answer to your question, I'd mount it in the trunk or leave it behind the driver's seat.

I have never seen a S catch on fire.

That's actually kind of funny because, if you look for a salvage s2000, quite a few of them were actually on fire. But, I see nothing wrong with keeping an extinguisher in the car for safety purposes. Hell, I have one in every car I own. Why? Because you might not need it but it could be used to save someone else's car as well.

From an aesthetic point of view I think it looks really gay (ex. if you mount it on the a-pillar), but if it is for function then I guess it is ok if you are worried about your car catching fire.

I should state that I don't have any mounted on my A pillar they are either underneath the seat or in the glove compartment. I have in fact helped a gentlemen out once that had a small engine fire with my extinguisher.

How about storing it in the trunk. I don't know about you people, but the first thing I'd do if my car was on fire would be to get out. Then I'd recall I had an extinguisher in the trunk and think about saving the car. Why would you want it in the passenger area when it's an item that's has about a .1% chance of being used? Also, you're just running I/H/E and a FD gear, so what's going to spark the fire that isn't there in all the other S's?
