With a $1,000 limit, I'd get a K&N FIPK, a test pipe, and a Spugen single Ti.

FIPK= ~$250

Megan test pipe=$100

Spugen single Ti=$650

(prices are IIRC )

Not performance mods, but the first 1G I am spending on my car is for stereo, alarm, and detailing products. The next grand will be for exhaust. Then probably intake, followed by wheels, emblems, spoilers....I don't think it will ever end.

I'd save 300 more and get a full coilover system that will improve the handling of your car. That will be the first "official" mod to my S. I hear Apexi has a new coilover system, or the T1R B-Max. Just my .02

$ 250 AEM V2
$99 cat delete
$60 hondata gasket+ $200 install.

thats 610$ now, order you some tein S tech springs ..$150 shipped. and you still have money to do your trans, diff,engine oil changes.
amsoil in the motor, LE607 in the diff, and GMFM, or honda fluid in the trans. hell you could even throw in a tad colder T stat while your in there. anyways, just some thoughts to help you go fast. check up on your brakes and valve adjustment also. later dave

not to be an arse but it's one of the most well spent money on car EVER, getting some seat time with the instructor at local track day is better than alot of mod. for novice driver.

the track instructor drove a yellow s2000 on the last track day too(and a turbo'ed porsche)

Get a good exhaust, the S will sound like a real sports car then. Save a lottle more and get a Mugen or a Comptech exhaust.
