First Convertible?
This is my first convertible. Living here is So Cal, I've always wanted a convertible and was looking at buying an RX-7 convertible. They stopped making the car, so I looked into other cars. I found out about the S2K and told myself that if I could get a good deal on one, I'd buy it. I lucked out and got a great deal so I bought it.
It's just an added plus that it's a Honda and has all this technology in it.

I admit I really bought the car because of the performance.
The convertable part is nice also.
This is my 1st:
-Car I ever bought
-Convertable
-Rear wheel dive vehicle
-Manual transmission (6 Speed)
-and on and on...

i had a hunger for horsepower.. but it was the looks that first drew me to the car. found out about the performance numbers later. i was also looking at camaro SS's but after test driving both there was no comparison.. the s2000 handles like a lil' f1 car (which it is). the convertable part was an after thought.. which i am truly enjoying now.. evident by my severe sun burn today.
I just moved out to California. How could I not get a convertible?
By the way, I would sell the car before returning to New York. I wouldn't have the heart to see the weather, roads, a-holes, etc. take their toll on the S2K.

Curious, how old are you given all those first?
I've had a (semi)convertible before, had a couple of hi-po RWD cars, both with 6-speeds, had Hondas before also, but it is the first car that I actually WANT TO DRIVE ALL THE TIME!
Oh ditto on that part about convertible...it was the last thing on my agenda, though it definitely helps it to be a chick magnet!

After I got out of motorcycles I got a Jag XKE convertible.
Then a RX-7 convertible
Then in 12/99 the S2000
Considering a 330iC or M3 convertible in a couple of years
I really enjoy the S with the top down but after a few days of commuting with the top up the rattles and road noise start wearing on me This is my daily driver

My first convertible and 6spd. I have had hot rod hardtails for the last 4 years and I am tired of being either almost hit by cars and or hitting potholes. I miss my stroked out hardtail. I could keep pace with a tweeked rice rocket til about 70. I miss those days but my back is alot better. The stook is the perfect replacement. If i could just keep the ass from swinging out it would be great. lol

Started with a '62 Austin Healey 3000. The "side curtains" were an aluminum frame with two pieces of plexiglass (to open, slide one piece to overlap with the other piece; alternatively remove two wingnuts and take the whole side curtain off -- toss it into the trunk). Those who complain of our plastic rear window never had the fun of dealing with these.
The ragtop snapped on around the rear deck, and was held up by the "bow," an assembly of metal tubes which pivoted so that it could lie flat. Again, remove all, and toss into the trunk for the topless effect.
Of course, the rear window was plastic!
It was a car that you loved and hated at the same time. The S2000 is almost the same, except that you don't have to hate it.
