This is my first Honda automobile, but had a few of CR125 and 250 MXer before. I never planed on getting S2000 until this happened....

I had been a BMW man, with E30M3, E36-325i, E36M3s but lost my last car in stupid accident in Marina Del Ray. Old guy totaled my M3 while it was parked on street when I was on a date. My car was wedged under Pathfinder parked in front.

2 days after the accident, S2000 went on sale. I put money down, and waited a month. With the insurance settlement, I only had to pay something like $90 to get S2000, so it was a good deal. It didn't seem like it at time of accident, though....

I now have 2001 Toyota Tundra (which is Toyota but made in US except motor and tranny) and S2000. Come to think of it, S2000 is my first Japanese car. I'm a Japanese from Japan, but I never rialized how good Japanese cars are until now....

By the way, I never saw that girl that I had a date with. She complained she wanted to go home while I was talking to police!? No way I would buy her a dinner again!!!

My mother had a beamer, it was a 1984 model 5-series (four-door). The car was fairly nice, but the engine was TOTAL crap and BMW should have recalled it. It wasn't designed to properly run on American gasoline and had problems with carbon build-up that REQUIRED owners to buy expensive BMW-branded fuel additives as well have have some additional engine cleaning/maintence performed every year or two (that cost THOUSANDS of 1980s dollars)!! After that crap, I dare say I'll never own a BMW...because they had the chance to do the right thing (recall the engine or perform the added work for free) and they didn't!

Sorry for the tirade...

STL,
That was 16 years ago !!!
I've had BMWS for the last 13 years and I've never had one problem with them - not one!
I can't say the same from Mercedes.
I bougth an S2000, and in only two months, I've changed a complete transmission and the satbelt retractors !!
I beleive this means something, don't you??!!

Best regards,

Paulo Nunes

This is my second Honda.
First was a 1989 4WS Prelude, red/black. Sold it 4 years ago with 115K miles on it.
I missed it until I got my S2000.

75ish CR125R
88 Accord LX 4 Dr (wifey)
88 Accord LXi 2 Dr
94 Legend Cpe 6 spd
98 EX-300
99 TR-90
00 S2000
01 MDX

We still have the last five. The Legend is showing it's age, and as much as I love the car I am thinking about replacing it with a BMW 740 iL.

The list of cars and bikes I've owned over the years would be five or six pages long. However, Honda's are the only import cars we've ever owned.
