I looked on wikipedia about the K engines. None of them stock made over 200 hp, and didnt rev up to 9k. Im not a mechanic, or a know it all with engines, but looking at those numbers it doesnt seem smart to do. Am I missing something?

You must not have driven a k series motor. The F series is 'raw' and fitting of the car. If you want refined, that's another honda product all together

that's why honda discontinued the S2000

coz the K series engine success.

Who knows if a next generation of "s2000" would have a k or other similar powerplant.
Actually with speaking to honda directly it's all the new CAFE emissions. Let's not forget the S was always to be a short run car. It was 'hey, we're honda, we'll make a super roadster and make a limited run'.

New CAFE emissions standards are going to force companies to either pay fines or meet the standard. Honda opted to meet the standard, BMW will be paying the fines.

Having driven the TSX it happily revs to 7500 so I think with a little work it would go to 9K.

The power increases this person got are nice, but it's not the same car by any stretch now.

Actually I did. I had a 2007 civic si before this. It has a k20z3

I think the K is nice because of the VTC

I wish honda could have added that to the F series atleast in the 06-09 cars

Being the first to do something just to do it doesnt always make sense.

No, its not close to being the same car anymore.

It has much more potential than where it is at now. He has a few more plans for the car over the next few months.

This swap actually makes great sense. Someone always has to complain about engine swaps. Naturally aspirated F engines have their limitations, K engines have much more potential (at a cheaper cost also). At least there is still a Honda engine in there, not a 2JZ or LS1.

im not very familiar with K series motors, but why a k24? ive owned a CR-V and a k20 civic SI and they feel completely different. the k24 redline at 6500 and didnt have vtec, also the stroke is too long to rev much higher above 7000. it just didnt feel like a good engine. Is there a different version out there with vtec and maybe a better flowing system?

If he took a CR-V engine and is using its factory power i think its a rediculous idea.
