Default FIRST OIL CHANGE!

I JUST GOT S2k last DEC. And My s2k has 3570 miles.

Is it too late for changing oil? Or is it just right time?

I had 04 4runner, I change oil every 5000.

Should i change it every 3000 miles? thanks

You are supposed to change the oil according to the oil-life-counter which counts the intervals at 5,000 miles; so the first oil change should be done at 5,000.

There are mixed opinions on this. Do a search under the Under the Hood section. Some say follow the oil reminder because of the oil break in additive. Others have changed around 3000 miles.

I known some car nuts (not s2000 owners) that do oil change at 500, 1000, 3000 miles on a brand new cars.

For me, I changed mine at about 3000 miles on brand new '06.

BTW, don't put synethic oil until after 10,000 miles

changed mine at 3800 miles. oil minder was at 30%. i used castrol gtx(10w30). it is okay to leave the oil in there til the minder says 0-10%, but there are so many different opinions on this. like stated above, do not use full synthetic til or after 10k miles. synthetic will disrupt the proper break in.
